Maybelline Lashsensational Luscious Reivew

Hello everybody today I will be reviewing the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara. This mascara retails for $8 - $10 depending on where you get it. You get 0.32 fl oz of product in this tube.

The wand is rubber which is something I much prefer than the traditional wands. The tip of the wand is slightly flexible making it easy to really get into the lashes and comb the product through. The formula is really wet so it takes a little longer to dry. Wet formulas aren't my favorite but it's not the end of the world for me, I can make it work. What I don't like about this mascara is that it is oddly heavy. Like it makes my lashes feel super heavy, even when dried I can still feel to weight of the mascara. I think if I was someone who curled my lashes, this mascara would not hold the curl. That curl would be gone pretty much instantly. This is a mascara that I just won't reach for that much. I don't like mascara's that feel like I'm wearing mascara, if that makes sense. So far you guys, none of the mascara's I've tried are living up to my holy grail. It's kind of disappointing.

Beau Gachis Tapered Blending Brush Review

How's it going everyone? Today I will be reviewing the Beau Gachis Tapered Blending brush. I received this in my April Ipsy Glam bag. This brush retails for $10.95 USD on the Beau Gachis website where it does ship to both Canada and the US.

This is quite a big brush to use the on eyes at least in my opinion. You use this to blend that eyeshadow is going to up the your brows. The way I use this is I will do a light blend on the edge of my shadow just to soften the look a bit. There will be nothing on the brush or it will mess up the look. I also use this to wipe away any fallout I get after I'm done with my eyeshadow.  If you are someone who wears highligher, I'm pretty sure this would work for highlighting both the face and nose as well.

The brush itself is fairly soft, the handle is pretty short which I'm not a huge fan of. I like longer handles as it makes it easier to do a soft blend, at least for me. I have had a few bristles fall out before I washed the brush, but after washing haven't had any fall out since. The website claims you could use this with cream products but I personally doubt it. This is just way to fluffy and has pretty much zero density.

It's not a brush I would go out and buy as I simply just don't use it that often. I feel like to there are better brushes out there that are cheaper. BH Cosmetics brushes are fairly cheap and are a decent quality. So this brush by Beau Gachis is a no go for me.

BH Cosmetics Deluxe Carli Byble Eye and Highlighter Palette Review

Hows it going everyone? Today I will be reviewing the BH Cosmetics Deluxe Carli Byble Eye and Highlighter Palette. This palette currently retails for $22.50 USD on the BH Cosmetics website. There are 21 eyeshadow shades in here with 6 of them that can also be used as a highlighter. I did do swatches of everything in this palette, but unfortunately none of these shades of names. I started with the top row of eyeshadows and went down from there. All swatches were done with a finger and no eyeshadow base.

Row 1.

Row 2.

Row 3.

Row 4.

and finally Row 5.

Now I personally don't use any of the highlighters as highlighters. That bright white and the bright pink shade in the last set of swatches, I love using in the inner corner of the eye. As you can see from the swatches, these eyeshadows/highlighters are pretty freaking pigmented. The shimmer shades are super smooth and buttery. Some of the lighter matte shades I need to work at to get them to be their full opacity but that's not the end of the world to me. All of these shadows blend really nicely and are a really good quality considering the price. I find that lately BH Cosmetics is stepping up their game with the quality of their eyeshadows. For being a pretty warm natural palette you can do a good amount of looks with it, and for that I think would be good for traveling with. This eyeshadow palette also comes with a mirror, which is a big bonus for me. It drives me a little crazy when a palette doesn't come with a mirror. According to the BH Cosmetics website, this palette is also cruelty free, vegan, gluten free and allergy tested. I do think you guys should try this out, especially if you haven't tried anything from BH Cosmetics before. Their prices are pretty good and most of their stuff is pretty good quality.

May Ipsy Bag

Hello everybody today I will be showing you what I got in the May 2018 Ipsy Glam bag. As always once I've had time to test each product I will be posting reviews.

The first thing I got in this months bag is a Adesse New York Gel Effect Nail Polish in the shade Oh Cabana Boy. This guys retails both on the Adesse website and the Ipsy website for $18.00 USD.

Next up we have the N15 eyeshadow brush by Slmissglam. This brush was made exclusively for the May Ipsy bag and therefor you can not buy it anywhere.

Next up we have this mask from TonyMoly. This is from the Painting Therapy Pack line and is a black charcoal mask. You can not buy this from Ipsy but I assume you can get this from wherever TonyMoly is sold. On the TonyMoly website one of these tubes will cost you $6.50 USD. If you aren't a huge fan of charcoal they have other types of mask from the Painting Therapy Pack line.

Next up is the Air Repair Complexion Quenching Facial Mist. The full size of this product is 2 fluid ounces and costs $10.00USD both on the Ipsy website and from the Air Repair website. Not super thrilled about getting this as i'm not really a huge skincare person. Masks are all I pretty much do besides moisturize and I have my holy grail moisturizer.

The final thing in this months bag is the Elizabeth Mott Pop Goes the Shadow in Mermaid Teal. The full size of this eyeshadow (which isn't much bigger than the sample size) is 0.07 ounces and is $13.00 USD on both the Ipsy website and the Elizabeth Mott website.

Overall this bag was...ok. I wasn't really happy about getting that face spray. The brush although super cute is just a simple eyeshadow brush that most of us already have a ton of in that style. Not to mention my brush came slightly...deformed. I do like the eyeshadow and the nail polish though, I can't wait to try them.
What did you guys get in your Ipsy bags this month?

Maybelline Real Impact Mascara BONUS Review

hey guys today I will be reviewing the Maybelline Real Impact Mascara in blackest black. You get 0.37 fl oz of product and this retails for about $7.

The wand is a pretty standard mascara wand, which aren't really my favorite. I find that these wants collect WAY more product then you need and I also find they make it difficult to really comb through the lashes. The formula for this mascara is to put it lightly, terrible. This literally does nothing for my lashes accept make them black. It's super wet, and takes forever to dry. Because this takes a long time to dry, this does transfer to the lids which is something that drives me crazy. If you have watery eyes like I do, this mascara will run like crazy. Most mascara's even if they aren't water resistant won't run with my watery eyes. I do not recommend this mascara at all as it basically just tints your lashes. The only person I would recommend this to, would be someone who is just learning to do mascara.

NEW Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow Review

Hey guys hows it going? Today I will be reviewing the brand new Sephora Collection Colorful Eyeshadow singles. So recently Sephora reformulated and released their single eyeshadows. I wrote a review on the original shadows that you can check out here: http://beginnerbeautynerd.blogspot.ca/2018/04/sephoracollection-colorful-eyeshadow.html

These shadows come in three finishes. Matte, Shimmer and Glitter. You get 0.042 oz of product and these eyeshadows are made in Italy or France depending on the finish. The colors I have above are Diving In (blue shimmer), Black Lace (matte charcoal) and Sweet Lollipop (coppery glitter). These shadows retail for $10.00 CND while the older eyeshadows were $7.00 for double the amount of product.

The packaging on this eyeshadow is actually quite interesting. You can open the bottom to remove the pan that isn't glued down, to put into something like a Z Palette. In theory this is a good idea however it does make the pan move around the compact which could potentially damage the product.

This first set of swatches done was just done with a finger and no base.

This next set of swatches was done with a brush and no base.

This last set of swatches was done with a brush and using a Nyx white Jumbo pencil as the base.

As you can see these aren't really that pigmented. Diving In was the least impressive of the the trio. It will literally blend away into nothing and it takes many layers to make the color even close to what it is in the pan. Black Lace is the next disappointment. The formula feels fine but this is actually supposed to be black when in reality it's just a charcoal. I was hoping this would be a true black as I only have one in my collection that is limited edition and was hoping that this could be a backup. No such luck sadly. Sweet Lollipop looks much more red toned on the website but in real life is more orange. Even though it swatched ok this isn't really that pigmented either. You have to really dig your brush in to pick up very little product. Once on the eyes it looks like nothing and I would put another copper shimmer on top.
I am not at all impressed with these eyeshadows. They really lack pigment and cost more for basically less product. Currently Sephora still has some of their old eyeshadows on sale, I recommend that you try those over these new ones. These newer eyeshadows feel and perform like, dare I say it, children's makeup.

Biorace Pore Tightening Pearl Clay Mask

How's it going everybody?! Today I am reviewing the Biorace Pore Tightening Pearl Clay Mask. I received this mask in my April Ipsy glam bag.  This product is $25 USD for 110 grams of product. The company claims that this mask will reduce the appearance of pores, draw out impurities and purify the skin complexion.

For starts I hate the smell of this mask. It's hard to describe but I will try my best to give you guys an idea as to how it smells. It sort of smells like clay mixed with rotting seaweed if that makes sense. After you've used the mask a few times though you get used to the smell and it isn't as strong as when you first use it. The texture of this product is pretty typical of a clay mask but it has little black chunks in it, which I assume is the pearl. This mask has no sensation on the face whatsoever. There is no cooling, tingling or burning that some masks are known for. (Glamglow anyone?)

For the somewhat small amount of product you get, I feel like this mask will last you a decent amount of time. You are supposed to do a thin layer of this mask 2 to 3 times a week. I personally like to use this on my T zone, like any other mask since this is mainly my problem area. you leave the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes, though I just leave it on until it's dried. This mask doesn't make your skin feel super tight while it's drying like some clay masks are known to do.

I don't really notice in change in my pores, especially the ones around my nose or in my skin complexion. My skin though does feel soft and clean after using the mask. A bonus is that this doesn't make my skin red after removal. (another dig at glamglow maybe?) This mask also doesn't dry out my skin which is a huge bonus for me. Other clay masks I've tried in the past make my skin really dry and I end up having to pile on the moisturizer after. This one, not so much.

I do really like this clay mask however, I don't think I will actually go out and purchase it. If I get it in another glam bag great I'll use it. You can only buy this at Ipsy (if you're american) or from the Biorace website but I can't find any information on shipping on the website. I'm going to assume that they ship to Canada, but that $25 will easily become at least $40 if not more thanks to conversion, taxes and duty. That's one of the main reasons why I won't buy it. It is a good mask though. If you live in America you should try it out since you guys get free shipping and can buy it from Ipsy for less.

BH Costmetics Foil Eyes To Go Review

Hey there guys and gals, for today's review I will be reviewing the BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes to Go palette. BH Cosmetics has a range of these 6 pan on the go palettes on their website for $4.99 USD and there are many different finishes. The one I received for free in one of my orders was this foil eyes palette.

The shadows swatched pretty well without a base, however I find the two lighter shades when applied to eyes need to be built up a bit before reaching the swatched opacity. The texture of these shadows is way softer and nicer then what you get in BH's larger palettes, like 120 palettes. You don't need a base with these and fallout is minimal, which is nice. I am in love with the turquoise color and it looks great in the centre of the lid. I would say that the only major downfall with this (and most of BH's makeup) is that it is made in China. Personally, I don't really care but I know that there are people out there who refuse to buy anything that was made in China. These shadows are cruelty free though which I know is a huge plus. Anywho, I do honesty think that this little palette is going to be worth your money. I mean it's 5 bucks. You go to a drugstore and you can't even get a eyeshadow quad for that price. I highly recommend that you try this out, and if metallics aren't your thing BH does have other Eyes to Go palettes with other finishes.

L'oreal Infallible Color Review

What's up everyone! Today's review is going to be on the L'oreal Infallible Color eyeshadows. These eyeshadows, depending on where you buy them range from about $8 to $10. They come in a range of colors from neutrals to pops of color and all basically metallic. You get 3.5 grams of product and they are made in Italy. The two colors I have hear are Metallic Lilac (left) and All Night Blue (right).

Here are the swatches. The first set is done with a finger and the second done with a brush without a base. The blue sadly doesn't look as vibrant on the eyes as it does in the finger swatch. It does blend pretty well, and the glitter will even disappear with blending. You do get a bit of fallout, but it's not crazy and if you powder under your eyes won't be a huge deal. The lilac though, that is another story. Although it does look nice on the eyes the glitter fallout with this shadow is intense. This glitter does not want to go away once you get it where you don't want it. Trust me, it took me a while after doing this swatch to get remove it. The texture on both of these eyeshadows is interesting the say the least. They feel both creamy, soft and powdery if that makes sense? Like you can put a finger print in them like a cream but they are a powder.  These shadows will dry out too if you don't keep the little plastic conserver on and keep the lids on tight.
I feel like there are cheaper brands out there with similar if not better quality than the L'oreal Infallible Color eyeshadows. Look at Colourpop for example. It's 4$ a shadow, almost 4 to 6 bucks cheaper! If you can find these shadows on sale where they are cheaper than I say go for it, but otherwise don't waste your money.

GlamGlow Supermud Activated Charcoal Treatment Review

What's up guys? Today I will be reviewing the GlamGlow Supermud Activated Charcoal Treatment Mask. I personally received a sample of this for free from one of my Sephora orders. There are many different size options you can buy from Sephora. The standard size of this product contains 1.7 oz of product for $75CND. Ya that's right, you heard me. $75! To say that is expensive, is a understatement. The 3.5oz size of this mask, also called the value size, is $99CND. Now I understand that some people like to splurge on skincare, but 75 - 100 dollars?! No thank you. That in itself is a huge no for me. Anyway this is a charcoal mask that contains 6 different types of acid as well as eucalyptus. Glamglow claims that this product will help common skin problems such as acne, redness, scars, ingrown hairs, razor bumps, shrink pores and help oily skin.
The actual product for me, despite there being so many good reviews did not work out for me. I know you are supposed to use a mask more than once to get an idea as to how it will work, but once you read what I just went through you will totally understand.
After first applying, the mask was quite cooling and soothing most likely thanks to the eucalyptus. Within a few moments though a tingling sensation started in my nose area, which is where my pores are the largest. The more this mask dried the more that tingling started to burn, particularly in the crevasse of the nose. The burning started out to be bearable but once I hit the 12 minute mark was just to much and I needed to wash off the mask.
Once I removed the mask things for my skin started to get worse. My face was bright red, like lobster red and was hot to the touch. I looked like I had a sunburn. I also noticed that my skin had severely dried out to the point where it was flaking in places like my forehead. The redness for the most part did go away after a few hours but my skin was still warm and painful. The next day the pores on my nose a bigger than ever, I was breaking out on my forehead, I had a rash on my chin and right cheek that both itched and hurt and the rest of my skin was still hot and painful. I sat there trying to figure out what did my skin react so badly to. My skin on my face is slightly sensitive but out the three or four different face masks I've tried I've never had a problem until now. I know it wasn't the eucalyptus, as I use stuff likes Vicks all the time when I have a cold and that doesn't bother me. It wouldn't be the charcoal, I've used a mask before that has charcoal in it, and it didn't bother me. The only thing I can think of, is the blend of the different acids used in this product.
After some research, I've found out that I'm not the only one who has been having this issue. I think the concentration of acid in this product is just so high that it basically gave me a chemical peel. I do not recommend this product at ALL. This is going to ruin your skin, go with something else. It's ridiculously expensive and the results are terrible. You can get much better and affordable face masks at the drugstore.

meech and mia pressed eye shadow

hello everyone today i will be reviewing the meech and mia pressed eye shadow single in the shade taupe. i got this in one of my ipsy glam...
