what i got in my ipsy - november

hello everyone! today i will be letting you all know what i got my in my november ipsy. man it took forever for this to get here! anyway, if you don't know what ipsy is, it is a monthly subscription where you get make up for lie $10  a month. in canada it's about $20.
note: all images were taken off the ipsy website. i was too lazy to take photos myself for this month.

the first item i got is this lip crayon from twisted kisses in the shade kiss me twice, a nice nude shade.

next is this waterproof pencil liner from lock it. the shade i got pearl brown which is a nice metallic bronze shade. it will be interesting to see if this lasts on my waterline.

next we have these two face sheet masks from timeless beauty bar. cause we all i know i need more sheet masks right?

next is this mascara from ciate london. it's the wonderwand mascara in the shade black magic. not my favorite type of wand but we'll see how the formula is.

finally we have this loose pigment from jelly pong pong cosmetics. the shade here is called pulsar.

so that's what i got in my november ipsy, i'm not mad at it. i can't wait to try out the pigment. what did you guys get in your ipsy bag?

anti haul - aka shit i'm not going to buy!

well since it's the holidays and companies are spewing out new products here is another anti haul!

first up is the kylie cosmetics holiday collection. the only thing in this collection i'm interested in is the eye shadow palette, unfortunately it's $43 USD which means it will be about over $50 CND plus shipping, and plus customs. das esspensive.

next is the nude eye shadow palette by huda beauty. i dunno the colors just don't interest me and i have a feeling the glitter/metallic shades just won't be as amazing as the look in the pan. also this thing is over $80 CND.

oh look another palette from natasha denona. why are you so freaking expensive! i actually wouldn't mind getting this cranberry eye shadow palette, i mean look at that pink! but seriously though this little five shade eye shadow palette is $61!!!

next is the fetish eye shadow palette from kat von d. although the colors are pretty, i just feel like kat von d has done these before and i already have something similar in my collection. i've also heard that the quality of this palette isn't that great.

next is the vanity flare nude eye shadow palette from benefit. the colors of this just doesn't excite me, it's kind of boring.

next is the kat von d current crush glitter gel. honestly i feel like this has been done before, it's basically a gold creme eye shadow/eyeliner. it's just not something i would see myself getting a lot of use of.

next up is the fenty beauty killawatt foil freestyle highlighter palette. although these are indeed pretty, i just don't see myself getting much use of it. and with this being almost $70 i don't want to pay that for something i would maybe use every so often.

well that is it for this anti haul, don't worry i'm sure another one will be coming soon. it is after all the holidays!

O'Keeffe's Working Hands

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the o'keeffes working hands, hand cream. in this jar you get 96 grams of product and it is made in the usa. depending on where you buy it, the price ranges from $6 to $10.
i seriously love this hand cream. i get extremely dry hands, especially after work as not only do i have to wash them lots, but i also am wearing latex free gloves most of the day. this moisturizes my hands really well and i can get away with only using it on the days that i work. it doesn't feel watery like a lot of hand creams i've tried and despite this being pretty much a solid, a little goes a long way. this will also keep your hands moisturized even if you happen to get them wet or sweat, which is a huge plus for me. it soaks into my skin pretty quickly and doesn't leave a weird film feeling. another huge plus for me is that there is no scent to this, and therefore is great for my sensitive skin. i can even use this when i've broken out in hives and it doesn't irritate them.
this has been my go to hand cream for years, ever since i started working. in fact this is the hand cream that my doctor recommended to my father who works in trades for his super dry cracked hands. you can literally find this stuff everywhere too. i've seen it in hardware stores, grocery stores, drugstores and online. and it's not a crazy ass price!

Winky Lux Mermaid Kitten Eye Shadow Single

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the winky lux mermaid kitten eye shadow single in the shade ursula. now currently you can't buy this single anymore, but you can buy the palette that has this shade which i think it about $25. this one i happened to get in one of my ipsy glam bags.

here are the swatches. the first one was done with just a finger and the one on the bottom was done with a brush. the texture of this is quite smooth and buttery. when using a brush you do need to build up the eye shadow to get it to a similar opacity to what you get with the finger swatch above. although there is very minimal fallout from the shadow its self, there is a little bit of glitter in there that does end up in places you don't want it. it's an ok eye shadow, i was hoping with the name that it was going to be a more vibrant purple not so plum as i already have a few plums. the packaging on this is super cute. i love the turquoise and the cute little mermaid kitten on the lid. anyway, this isn't a shadow i will most likely use that often as, as i said i already have a few plum eye shadows and i want to use that up first, but i'm not totally mad at this.

berry burst fun sized eye shadow palette by violet voss

hello everyone today i will be reviewing violet voss berry burst fun sized mini eye shadow palette.

in this palette you get 10 eye shadows, 6 of those are matte and four are shimmer. the eye shadows are 0.04 ounces.

here is the first row of eye shadows. each swatch was done with a finger and no base what so ever. please excuse my scratched up, hive covered arm.
and here is the second row of eye shadows.

the formula of these shadows are very similar to other violet voss shadows, smooth, pigmented, creamy and easy to work with. this palette is super great for travel, it's a nice small size so it won't take up much room. the shades are perfect for everyday, you can make it as basic or as daring as you want. the price for this isn't that bad either, only $24.00 CND from sephora. there are four eye shadow palettes in this mini range so if this berry one isn't for you, you will most likely find what your looking four in the other three. honestly i do reccomend this, or just violet voss eye shadows in general. the metallic are just so beautiful and the formula is awesome.

Shit I'm Not Going To Buy - Anti Haul

hello everyone, it is that time again. time to show and tell you guys what makeup i'm not going to be buying and why. and with the holidays coming, there is a lot.

the first product i'm not going to buy is the sultry eye shadow palette from anastasia. the colors just don't really speak to me and i feel like i already have those shades in other palettes.

next is this eye shadow palette fro it cosmetics. the it girl palette vol 2. like above, the shades just don't speak to me plus this is almost $60.

next is the tickled peach mini eye shadow palette from too faced. i'm sorry but $32 for eight eye shadows? no thank you. they do look pretty though.

next is this gold eye shadow palette from natasha denona. i mean it's pretty and all but $162? no thank you.

next is this once upon a night blockbuster kit from sephora. i'm sorry but this just looks like kids makeup or the cheap kits you can get from the drugstore during the holidays.

next is the mothership sublime bronze temptation palette from pat mcgrath. i'm sorry but $70 for 6 eye shadows, no matter how pretty they are, is just WAY to much for me.

next is this wader beauty wanderess off duty eye shadow palette. i'm sorry but these colors are just boring.

next up is this fucking fabulous lip color from tom ford. one this thing is like $80, two i also don't seem to react well to tom ford lipstick. the smell and taste frankly, is disgusting. also 80 fucking dollars for a red lipstick?!?!

so i'm going to actually stop here, or this post will be ridiculously long. i will maybe do another one in a couple of weeks. so what about you guys? what products are you not going to buy?

Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm

hey everyone, today i am reviewing the purlisse watermelon energizing aqua balm. i got this sample size in one of my ipsy glam bags, can't remember which month though. the full size of this product has 1.7 ounces of product in the tube and costs $45.00USD. yikes. this can be used for oily, combination, normal or sensitive skin. ingredients in this include... watermelon, aloe vera, white tea and cucumber.
for being a face moisturizer, this is pretty thin which right of the bat made me think that this wasn't going to do much. most watery moisturizers i've used on my face don't do anything to help with the dryness. i was right with this one, after using it twice i noticed no difference in the dryness of my face. we are getting into that time of year when my skin becomes as dry as the saraha and needs constant moisture. lets talk about the scent of this. this does not smell like watermelon, it smells like fake watermelon, that disgustingly sweet smell you can get watermelon flavored candy. not my favorite, which totally disappointing me. i love the smell or real watermelon, trust me i have to cut it up for a living. this really just doesn't do anything for me and 45 bucks for such a small amount, you'd think this was made of gold or at least do something. sorry fam.

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Liquid Lipstick

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the huda beauty liquid matte liquid lipstick in the shade trophy wife. i got this in one of my ipsy glam bags, which actually kind of surprised as this is full size. you get 0.17 ounces of product and this costs $26 CND from sephora.

the color of this is a dark rose, a few shades darker than my natural lip color. it isn't drying on the lips, which i love but does take a bit to dry down. this also has a sweet scent to it which i'm not a super huge fan of, but it does go away. this is pretty pigmented and will leave a bit of a stain on the lips once it wears off. although it is somewhat transfer proof this isn't eating or drinking proof, so if you plan on wearing this to a restaurant or something you may need to re apply. i actually don't hate this product and the price isn't too bad. i wouldn't mind getting some more. there do seem to be a lot of brown and nude shades in this line though, so if your like me and like nice pinks you may have a hard time finding something you like.

Tom Ford Lip Color

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the tom ford lip color in the shade true coral. i got a sample size of this with one of my sephora orders a while ago, i thought it was finally time to give it a review. the full size of this lipstick is $70.00CND at sephora. yes that's right 70 fucking dollars. yikes. you get 0.1 ounces of product in this lipstick too.

first off sorry for the lighting. despite my crappy lighting you can see how fucking bright orange this lipstick is. not my color. this is pretty pigmented and although not long lasting, like tom ford claims it is, it will leave a bit of a stain. i hate the smell of this lipstick. it smells like plastic and flowers and you can even taste that when this is on your lips. that taste never goes away and that drives me crazy. i actually felt a little sick when i wore this lipstick. also something in this did not like my skin either. when i did the swatch my skin was bright red after i wiped it off. honestly i don't recommend this lipstick to anyone. the formula sucks and really 70 dollars? there are plenty of better lipsticks out there that are WAY cheaper than this. don't waste your money guys, unless your super rich or something. even still i would say don't buy this unless you can stand the smell and the taste.

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the trust fund beauty nail polish in the shade mermaid tears. i got this in my september ipsy glam bag. now i can't actually find this particular nail polish on both ipsy and the trust fund beauty website, but based on the price of their other nail polishes, i'm going to guess that is about $15. this nail polish is vegan, cruelty free, non gmo, and 10 free. apparently that means it's free of 10 chemicals that are bad for your health or something. you also get 0.50 fluid ounces of product.
anyway the shade appears to be a dusty lavender with a pink and gold shift. it is quite a sheer formula so if you want this to be fully opaque your going to need to do at least three coats. you could use this as a top coat on something if you wanted to, to give a cream some pizazz. this takes forever to set and i hate that. i'm not being a drama queen either this literally took an hour to fully set on my nails which of course while setting moved around. that is not ok with me you guys. i mean the color is pretty but i don't have time to wait all day for a nail polish to set. i have a feeling i therefore won't be reaching for this very much. once it actually dried it does seem to last a decent amount on me before chipping. that's not something i'm super concerned about as i do manual labour and regardless nail polish is going to chip. if you are someone who doesn't do anything for a living this seems like it would last a decent time. i just don't think this is worth the money though, the time it takes to set is not cool.

Shisedio Modern Matte Powder Lipstick

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the shisedio modern matte powder lipstick in the shade exotic red. i got this as a sample with one of my sephora orders a few months ago and thought it i should review it. the full size of this product has 0.14 ounces of product and costs $35.00CND. still a bit pricey for my blood but not as bad as tom ford. it is claimed that this lipstick is formulated without parabans, sulfates and phthalates.

first things first, i'm going to apologize for the crappy lighting in this swatch photo. but basically this is a nice crimson red. i love that this doesn't have an orange base, i hate redish orange lipsticks. the formula on this is very comfortable, not at all drying considering that this is a matte. this is also pretty pigmented as you get full opacity at only one swipe, making this easy to apply. there is no scent which i love as scented lipstick can at times give me a headache and i'm in general just not a fan of them. i also like that there isn't a weird taste, that was a major turn off for me with the tom ford lipstick. overall i think this is a pretty good lipstick. they have a lot of wearable shades and some crazy adventurous type. if this is something you can afford i'd say go for it.

meech and mia pressed eye shadow

hello everyone today i will be reviewing the meech and mia pressed eye shadow single in the shade taupe. i got this in one of my ipsy glam...
