anti haul

look everyone it's time for another anti haul also known as, shit i'm not going to buy! and with spring around the corner you guys should have known that another one of these would be coming with all the new releases!

first up is the pretty mess collection from too faced. honestly the colors are boring and the layout of the eye shadow palette is just plain sloppy. not my thing hunny.

next up is this hg mini palette from violet voss. now to me this looks like a combo of the mini creme brulee palette and berry burst palettes, which i already have. so this is going to be a pass for me.

next up is the too faced natural lust eye shadow palette. to me this looks very similar to the natural love palette with very few different shades. to be honest many of the lighter shades look similar to me and just isn't that inspiring.

next is the urban decay naked reloaded eye shadow palette. you guys i don't know what's wrong with me but i'm just not that in to neutral eye shadows anymore. like this palette to me looks boring. anyone else think that?

next is the pisces palette from bh cosmetics. i wasn't that impressed with the first two from this mini zodiac line and this one is no exception. the brown shades in all three palettes bore me, however the green shades look pretty i'm not going to buy a palette for only three shades.

next is this collection from colourpop in collaboration with zoella. as much as i love colourpop again the colors just bore me, especially in the eye shadow palette. how many companies have done that exact same color story? like a million that's what.

that's all for this post. i shall do another one of these when i see more stuff that doesn't peak my interest.
most of these photos are from trendmood which is a instagram page i highly recommend you check out for new releases.

Color Club Nail Polish - Williamsburg

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the color club nail polish in the shade williamsburg. i got this in one of my ipsy glam bags however you can buy this polish from the color club website. you get 0.5 fluid ounces of product and on the website it costs $8.50 a polish.
the color is a dark blue with a blue micro glitter, a super pretty color that the camera doesn't do justice. now i do manual labour for a job and therefore i don't expect a nail polish to not chip when i'm work. when i'm at home though i expect to be able to load a dishwasher and not have my polish chip. sadly this nail polish chipped within an hour of my putting it on. the polish is a little thick so i had to wipe a bunch off the brush and do a couple of coats to make the color full opacity. this felt like it took a long time to set and i don't know if that's the reason why it chipped so soon, but literally within an hour of putting on this nail polish this chipped with just me putting a cup in the dishwasher. the price of this to me is pretty much on par with some drugstore brands like essie but it sadly doesn't perform as well. i don't know if it's just the shimmer shades by them that are this thick and peely or if all of their finishes are like this. this isn't a nail polish i would go out of my way to buy.

Nomad Cosmetics Around the World Illuminator

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the nomad cosmetics around the world illuminator in the shade ka pha nagan moonlight. now this is not the full size of this product, this is just a sample i got in one of my ipsy glam bags. the full size of this product is 0.35 ounces and costs $17. it is cruelty free, paraban free, mineral oil free and phthalate free. this is also made in china.

i did attempt to swatch it but this photo doesn't do it justice.it's a pale purple/blue shade which when you first look at it, looks like it would be a weird color for a highlighter. on me this doesn't look that great on my cheeks, so i use it in the inner corners of my eyes instead. the formula is pretty soft and pigmented but it blends out well or you can build it up which is what i do on my eyes. to me the formula feels very similar to the eye shadow i got from them. if your in to weird color highlighters you'd probably really like this.

colourpop it's my pleasure eye shadow palette

hello everyone, today i am going to review the colourpop it's my pleasure eye shadow palette.

this eye shadow palette currently costs $12 from the colourpop website. there are 9 eye shadows four of them are matte and the rest are shimmer. this is cruelty free and you get 0.04 ounces of product in each shadow. i also want to point out that a couple of these shades you can buy as singles such as earthshine.

here are swatches of the first three shadows. we have kittenfish, do or dough and pretty cruel.

next is bare minimum, earthshine and chick lit.

finally we have mr sandman, fan fiction and sleeper.

mr sandman is actually quite an interesting shade. in some lights it looks brown and with silver sheen and in some it looks like it has a pink and blue sheen. the website calls it a icy rose with a silver sheen. it's a pretty unique color and you can get it in a full sized single. the formula of these shadows are the same as any other colourpop eye shadow. they are pigmented, smooth and easy to work with. i do however recommend using a wet brush or a finger when your using earthshine to help make it pop even more. i do wish that there was a dark matte purple in this palette so you could do a really nice dark smokey eye but that is just my personal preference. i do think this is a decent add on palette to someone's collection especially if your a mostly neutral person who likes to have the odd pop of color. another thing i want to point out is that the shade pretty cruel although a matte, does have micro glitter in it but once you blend it out you can hardly see the glitter. something else is that for some reason chick lit is getting all over the inside of the palette. i mean that's not something huge but i do know for some people dirty eye shadow palettes are a turn off. anyway i love this palette just like i love all the other colourpop eye shadows i have gotten over the past couple of years and i can't wait to get more. it would be really cool to see them do other palettes that are basically based off of one color. a green palette and even a blue palette would be cool. but i digress. if you haven't tried colourpop what are you waiting for? they are priced well and are good quality.

Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the kat von d lock it tattoo foundation. now i know, amy why are you reviewing a kat von d product when you said that you didn't support the brand anymore? well i got a sample of it with one of my sephora orders so i didn't actually go out and buy this. besides i want you guys to know what my honest opinion is on this product.
anyway the full size of this product costs $44CND and you get exactly 1 ounce of product.  there is also a mini version that has 0.5 ounces of product and costs $22 but it also has a much smaller shade range. the shade i had a sample of was light 44 cool and to be honest wasn't really my shade. it claimed to be cool toned but there was defiantly a lot of yellow in it, at least one my face where i need something with a pink undertone. i do want to point out that it was also a little bit too dark for me.
now when i wore this i didn't use a primer, this is how i like to test foundation to see how well it will performs by itself. the claim on the sephora website is that it basically should work with all skin types. at the moment because of the weather, my skin is dry. coverage of this foundation was decent, it defiantly covered up all the redness in my face and nose. the feel of the foundation upon first applying is pretty comfortable and looked decent on the skin. throughout the day though my skin started feeling extremely dry and the foundation was looking pretty nasty on my skin. it had sunk into any lines and made any wrinkles on my face look a million times worse. i also want to point out that the color had changed and oxidized a bit. once i removed the foundation my skin was also pretty irritated and way drier than it had been before i put the foundation on. now i don't know how old this sample was, if it was an old sample and that's why it didn't look so great or if the actual foundation is like this. but i don't plan on buying it to find out. have you guys tried this foundation? what is it like for you?

anti haul - shit i'm not going to buy

hello everyone and welcome back to another anti haul also known as, shit i'm not going to buy!

first up is the valentines collections from kylie cosmetics. i'm sorry but it just doesn't excite me.

next is the morphe x jeffree star makeup brush collection. although i do think these are pretty i'm putting myself on a low to no buy for the next couple of months. plus i'd probably only really use the eye shadow brushes.

next up is these new highlighters and liquid lipsticks from melt. although i really want that pink lipstick these are a bit too expensive for my taste.

next up are these what's the tea and where's the tea eye shadow palettes from the balm. although i do really want to try their eye shadows, the colors i feel are kind of boring.

next up is this love in london eye shadow palette from bh cosmetics. now don't get me wrong i like bh cosmetics but the color story of this palette is kind of boring to me. it's been done by i feel like everyone. (although that blue shade is really nice looking)

next is this ofra x francesca tolot infinite eye shadow palette. while i really love that hot pink and lime green shade i can't justify spending $64 on nine eye shadows especially when only two of the shades interest me.

next is the double down brow from urban decay. i'm not that into brows and again i feel like $35 for what looks like two small eye shadows is not my thing.

nyx machinist grind eye shadow palette

hello everyone today i will be reviewing the nyx machinist eye shadow palette in grind.
this palette cost about $30 CND from a local drugstore but i'm sure you can find it else ware. in it you get 12 eye shadows with both matte and shimmer shades. there are 7 mattes and 5 shimmers with the eye shadows having 0.03 ounces of product. this palette also contains carmine so if you are vegan you will want to stay away from this palette.

here is the first row of swatches. each one is done with a finger and no base on what so ever.

here is the second row.

and here is the last row.

first off, the metallic brown shade with the greenish sheen on the last row is a pretty close dupe for urban decay's lounge. the mattes on this aren't super creamy feeling but they are pigmented and blend easily. the metallic are soft, pigmented and are also easy to work with. the shades in this i feel like are pretty unique. you have a super dark plum, a mustard and a dark green which isn't something i have a lot of in my collection. this palette is great for doing dark looks with pops of colorful shimmer. i've done a few looks with this palette and i seriously love it. now for the downside. i can't seem to find this palette anywhere. i've looked in the store where i got it and online. the only ones i cant find online are the steam and ignite palettes. if by some chance you can find this palette i highly recommend this as to me it's totally unique and the shadows themselves are fairly decent.

Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions Eye Shadow Palette

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the huda beauty emerald obsessions eye shadow palette.

this palette retails for $24.00 CND at sephora canada. there are 9 eye shadows in this little palette, with three mattes and the rest are glitter/metallic shades. each eye shadow has 0.04 ounces of product.

here is the first row of eye shadows. these are all done with a finger and no eye shadow base.

here is the second row.

and here is the last row.

first thing off the bat is i wish there a matte dark green, that is something i don't really have in my collection and this would have been the perfect palette to have that. second thing the light green shade in the top left corner is...well i have a slight issue with it. brushes don't work with this color you need to use your finger. another thing is that even with a sticky base this will go everywhere. half of my face was covered in glitter and that was a pain to get rid of. throughout the day as well more and more glitter fell to the point where you couldn't even see that i had put that color in my inner corner. so if you are using that particular shade your going to need a glitter glue. for the other metallic shades i highly recommenced using a wet brush or your finger as a dry brush just doesn't do them justice. the three matte shades, i'm surprised at how pigmented they are and easy they are to work with. i knew from the get go that this wasn't going to be a standalone palette and it's not, but i think it's a nice little addition to someone who is looking to add more green shades to their collection. besides the one glitter esc shade these shadows perform pretty well and i actually wouldn't mind getting more of these little obsessions palettes. i do think that the price for huda beauty eye shadows is a bit much, however i feel that the price of the obsessions palettes are fair. if you want to try huda beauty eye shadows and not have to shell out $85 for one of their larger palettes maybe try out the smaller obsessions palettes like i did.

january ipsy - what i got

hey there everyone, today i will be showing you all what i got in my ipsy glam bag for the month of january. ya ya i know i'm late but whatever. anyway if you do not know what ipsy is, it is a monthly subscription where you get 5 deluxe and sometimes full sized makeup products. you can also spend an extra three bucks and pick out an add to your bag like i did for the month of january.

the first thing i have here, which was my add on item it this naked cosmetics heavy metal pigment in number 06. i love me some blue.

next up is this lip liner from illamasqua in the shade lust. i'm not really a lip liner person so i kind of doubt i will get much use out of this.

next up is this brush from slmissglam. it's the sb68 eye brush. i am seriously living for the glitter handle.

next is this nail polish from color club in the shade williamsburg. hey man i never say no to nail polish.

next up we have this skin balancing mask from goldfaden md. i'm actually kind of getting tired of getting face masks. like i only do them once a week i've been getting some form of a face mask in  my glam bag since i've been subscribed to ipsy.

finally we have this caviar anti aging replenishing moisture cc cream 10 in 1 complete correction leave in conditioner. damn that was a mouth full. anyway it is by a company alterna haircare. now i'm not a haircare person at all. i have my products that i use and work for me and that's it, i'm not into trying new things. my hair is also pretty oily and using any kind of leave in conditioner just makes it a million times worse.

anyway i'd rate my bag a 2 out of 5 mostly because of the leave in conditioner and the face mask. anyway what did you guys get in your bag?

Quo Matte N Metal Eyeshadow Palette

hello everyone, today i will be reviewing the quo matte n metal eye shadow palette.
this product is exclusively sold at shoppers drug mart in canada. i'm sure it must be somewhere else online but for those of us that live in canada, you can get it at your local shoppers drug mart. in this you get 12 eye shadows, 6 of those are matte and 6 are metallic. it costs $25 CND and you get 1.2 grams of product per eye shadow. i also want to point out that this was made in taiwan.

here is the first row of swatches. they were done with a finger and no base used what so ever.

here is the second row

and here is the last row.

as you can see the three light shades are extremely light on my skin, you can barely see them! anyway formula wise these are kind of chalky and from the mattes you do get a little kick back in the pan. now i got this as a christmas present but i personally wouldn't have bought it myself. the color story is just meh, it's been done before by everyone else. the mattes you need to build them up on the eyes, which for some people isn't a problem. a couple of the metallics aren't that pigmented, mainly the lighter ones so they take a bit of work. these do blend but with the lighter shades they can blend into nothingness so you need to be careful about that. i feel like many of the shades also look very similar once on the eye. all in all i'd maybe skip out on this palette. there are so many other natural eye shadow palettes out there that are way better.

Colourpop Chasing Rainbows Eye Shadow Palette

hello everyone, today i am reviewing the colourpop chasing rainbows eye shadow palette. now i'm not sure how much longer this palette will be around as i believe it was for their holiday 2018 but i thought i'd post a review anyway.

there are 15 eye shadows in this palette with both matte and shimmer shades. currently as i write this, this is priced at $20.00USD although i bought it when it was on sale for $14.00USD. each eye shadow has 0.04 ounces of product and it is cruelty free.

here is the first row we have wiggles, blurred lines, so meta, feeling it and realness.

next is woke, wish list, manifest it, keep cool and not playing

finally we have lucid, bring it, on one, eclipse and prism.

i want to mention that manifest it is a matte with micro glitter but the glitter doesn't really appear that much on the lid. the formula of these shadows is typical of colourpop, pigmented, smooth and easy to work with. their shimmer/metallic shades literally feel like butter. although i love the color selection i kind of wish that this was more rainbow esc as when i think of a palette called chasing rainbows that makes me think, oh rainbow eye shadow. but that's just my personal preference. i like that they added some neutral shades in here so you can do a neutral look and add a pop of color. on one is probably my favorite shade in this palette, i don't know why it's just so gosh darn pretty! as with any colourpop palette i say you should get this as it's a good price and the eye shadow quality is great. i think this would be a good palette too if you want to experiment with color a bit but not fully commit to having a pure colorful palette.

meech and mia pressed eye shadow

hello everyone today i will be reviewing the meech and mia pressed eye shadow single in the shade taupe. i got this in one of my ipsy glam...
